Janet Michael
"Glasgow College of Dramatic Art in 1944, age 7. Performed with Sybil Thorndike and Lewis Casson in Teresa of Avila in 1964. Worked 30 consecutive seasons at Perth Theatre from 1972- 2004. First play at Perth, Dracula and my last, A Cream Cracker Under the Settee. Performed at Pitlochry Festival Theatre for 8 seasons between 1976, when it was still in the tent and the hottest summer ever recorded, until 2004. And probably best remembered as Dolly in The Steamie, played her 5 times. From 2008-2010 I toured Scotland in Dirty Dusting with Carole Andrew , we had been Scarecrows together at The Byre in 1997.
I haven't acted since I broke my back, I now walk like a penguin so if anyone is looking to do a stage version of Happy Feet, give me a call." Janet Michael will be back on the stage tomorrow at Birnam Arts and not a penguin to be seen. Not surprisingly tickets are selling fast, don't miss out on this one. |
